Matricaria chamomilla
Chamomile
Chamomile is the common name for daisy-like plants originating from the Asteraceae family. Originally found in Europe and Western Asia, Chamomile can now be found around the world. The word “chamomile” is derived from French and Latin from Greek χαμαίμηλον (khamaimēlon), meaning “earth apple.” This name may be because of the distinct apple smell of Chamomile. Used as an herbal remedy since the time of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, Chamomile has been in use since 500 BC.
